Time's Up heading Down South
In April/May 2014 we will have a team of young artists from Time's Up in Linz on board travelling the Tonga area on both sides of the River. They are very much interested to explore Binga, Harare and Joburg for future artistic collaborations. This helps us to widen the scope of attention for Kunzwana and for Tonga and ZIM cultures here in Austria. It should feed perfectly into the Kunzwana endeavour to transform cultural heritage into some resource and search base for common ground and relevant art production of future generations.
Time's Up has been hosting day 2 of the Parade in Linz 2009 where Keith was seen dancing in the midst of the crowd. Later in 2009 we have presented the Parade documentary there.
Time's Up is a "Laboratory for the construction of experimental situations".
Founded in 1996, Time's Up has its principal locus in the Linz harbour of Austria. Its mission is to investigate the ways in which people interact with and explore their physical surroundings as a complete context, discovering, learning and communicating as they do. Thus our research is based upon constructing interactive situations not unlike the normal physical world, inviting an audience into them and encouraging their playful experience-driven exploration of the space and its behaviours, alone and in groups. In this research process we use tools from the arts and design, mathematics, science and technology as well as sociology and cultural studies. Our goals are to collaboratively investigate the world and its options with a general public, communicating and discussing these discoveries through workshops, publications, teaching and symposia".
